Organization hopes to move forward on study with new funding commitment
The Wood River Land Trust is commissioning a study to look at the costs and benefits of potential modifications to state Highway 75 and adjacent land that could reduce vehicle-elk collisions, the nonprofit announced in a news release on Tuesday.
The Land Trust said it plans to hire a team of professional road ecologists to complete the study and ultimately prescribe a course of action. Those recommendations will then be presented to the Idaho Transportation Department, Idaho Fish and Game, the Blaine County commissioners and the Idaho Conservation League for review, it said.
Cece Osborn, the Land Trust’s community planning director, said one of the organization’s longtime donors has agreed to fully finance the study.
