East Fork Preserve

Having been involved in the protection of the property for over a decade, Wood River Land Trust accepted ownership of the East Fork Preserve from the East Fork Homeowners Association in 2013. Originally protected in 2002 through a Scenic Easement made possible by Idaho Department of Transportation, the East Fork Preserve protects the rural view that motorists and cyclists enjoy as they travel along the Sawtooth Scenic Byway.

The sagebrush-dominated landscape dotted with bunchgrass and scattered trees was at one time explored as a site for high density housing, but will now be permanently preserved as wildlife habitat in close proximity to the Big Wood River.
