"Quick access to nature trails is one of the most beautiful things about living in the Wood River Valley. Old Cutters Preserve provides something for everyone in our family: a place to walk, mountain bike, hike, bird watch, bug collect and enjoy the beautiful views of our valley. As residents of Old Cutters, we use this area on a weekly basis and would enjoy its thoughtful upkeep and preservation."

PRESERVATION BENEFITS TO OUR COMMUNITY

Restore
Nature

Transform the land, currently currently covered with weeds, into
a meadow featuring flowers, native grasses, and a pond.

Safeguard Public Access & Recreation

Protect habitat utilized by species experiencing rapid habitat loss,

such as elk, mule deer, and

migratory birds.

Protect
Wildlife Habitat

Protect 2.5 acres of open space adjacent to Old Cutters Park, enhancing the gateway to Hangman Gulch and the BLM lands
beyond, and securing permanent public access to the pond.

PROJECT COSTS

Since the land will be donated, the only fundraising needs are for the restoration work and long-term stewardship. As an Accredited Land Trust, the WRLT is obligated to set aside a stewardship endowment for each property we conserve. Based on the intended restoration and management objectives for this project, we will need to raise between $70,000 and $120,000, depending on whether certain HOA dues and requirements remain in place for the parcel.

One of your neighbors has generously committed to donating half of the funds needed–up to $35,000–if donations from our community can match the other half. Every dollar you donate by October 31 will be doubled, meaning your contribution will have twice the impact in making the vision for Old Cutters Preserve a reality!

JOIN US IN CONNECTING WILD SPACES &
CREATING HAPPY PLACES

For 30 years, our generous community has supported us in connecting wild spaces and creating happy places like the Hailey Greenway, Boxcar Bend, Howard Preserve, and Warms Spring Preserve. Now, we have a unique opportunity to protect and restore a peaceful meadow and pond, creating a cherished place in the Old Cutters neighborhood where our community can pause, reflect, and experience the wonders of nature for generations to come.

To Ensure This Happy Place Remains Open To The Public Forever, We Need Your Help:

Donate

To take advantage of the generous match, contribute by October 31 to the creation, restoration,
and long-term stewardship of

Old Cutters Preserve.
