The Wood River Land Trust has begun a scenario planning project to answer the question: Which land use regulations, zoning tools, and programs can best protect the land, water, and wildlife of Blaine County, Idaho? Specifically, we'll be mapping growth under land use regulation scenarios targeting how to reduce the demand for water and protect sensitive habitats in the floodplain.
During the Watershed Moment community workshops, we'll present:
preliminary analyses clarifying how water consumption is tied to different land uses across the County,
the methodology for how we're mapping growth scenarios and measuring watershed impacts, and
a community survey requesting your input on prospective land use regulations.
Join in on the effort to plan today's land uses for tomorrow's river. We hope to see you for one of the following community workshops:
