Why It Is A Conservation Priority
The Mays Creek conservation agreement was one of the first donated to Wood River Land Trust in 1998.  The agreement protects 87.24 acres of sagebrush-steppe and riparian habitat along Mays Creek in Camas County. This area supports migration and winter habitat for elk and mule deer. Mays creek in addition to the surrounding riverine/wetland habitat recharge the underlying aquifer and increase water quality.  This working ranch is also protected against future development.  The landowners have worked to protect the natural springs on the property from cattle grazing through fencing and providing alternative watering sources.

Restoration & Improvement Goals:
None at this time.
