Why it is a Conservation Priority
After two years of planning by the Wood River Land Trust, it took just four days to remove the century-old Bullion Bridge abutment on the Big Wood River at the entrance to Croy Canyon in Hailey.  The old bridge abutment was not removed when the existing Bullion Bridge was built in the 1970s. Prior to the Clean Water Act, snow - removal crews used to back their trucks onto the old abutment and dump the snow - along with sediments, oil, and other pollutants from city street - directly into the river, and some trucks used an adjacent area to spill excess cement.

What To Do And See:
Excellent place to view high water log deposits, swim and cool off after a hike up Carbonate

Visiting Bullion Bridge Project:
Bullion Bridge Project is located on the north side of Bullion St next to the Big Wood River at the base of Carbonate Mountain.  Turn west on Bullion St in downtown Hailey; continue over Bullion Bridge, and park at the base of Carbonate Mountain just after you cross the river.
